From the Toolkit directory, in a terminal with GNU sed on the PATH, run:
bin/init creates three files: It also generates OVERLEAF_INVITE_TOKEN_SECRET in config/variables.env. Keep it, and do not publish this file or commit it to version control. Keep the version that the Toolkit selects for a new installation. To change the version of an existing instance later, follow Upgrading your deployment.
If bin/init stops with sed: ... invalid command code, it ran with the BSD sed of macOS. Such a failed run can leave all three files in config/ with an empty OVERLEAF_INVITE_TOKEN_SECRET, and running bin/init again then reports Config files already exist. See Troubleshooting.
